Using key informant interviews and institutional analysis we examine the efforts of civil society organizations to promote citizenship as a way of overcoming ethnic, racial, and religious divisions within countries and communities.
Through interviews, participant observation, and digital story mapping, we have directly engaged with young people to learn about their own understanding and experience of citizenship in their daily lives, how they view the past and the future, and about the ways they might imagine and enact new forms of citizenship on their own terms.
